Child Development Study |
McMaster seeks parents of children ages 1 month - 6yrs for child development studyMcMaster University Health Sciences, Department of Medicine, Offord Centre for Child Studies and PANS are conducting a research study. They are looking for parents with children between 1 month and 6 years of age to help look at a survey about child development that's recently been revised (the Nippising District Developmental Screen (NDDS-R). Parents are asked to complete some surveys (including the NDDS-R) and go to a ~2-hour appointment with their child and a trained research assistant. At the appointment, the research assistant uses different toys, games and books to look at different aspects of child development (language and motor development, etc). They are testing the survey by comparing its results to those from the appointment. There are day, evening and weekend appointment times, and the appointments can be done within parent homes or at different participating Early Years Centres across the greater Hamilton area. Parents will receive a gift certificate to compensate them for their time. For more information please visit http://fammedmcmaster.ca/research/family-medicine-research/pans-study. |
